1. Who we are and how to contact us

EllanTech Limited publishes VlogMatic for Android (package im.vlogmatic) and is responsible for the personal information it receives through support enquiries. This policy covers the Android app, this privacy-policy website and support enquiries about VlogMatic.

2. Camera, microphone and detection

With your camera permission, VlogMatic uses camera frames for the live preview, local motion and face detection, and video recording. Motion detection compares image brightness patterns. Face detection checks whether a face is present; it does not identify a person or create a face-recognition profile.

Detection runs on your device using local processing and a bundled Google ML Kit face-detection model. Analysis frames are processed temporarily and released after analysis. If recording is active, selected camera footage is also written into your video. We do not receive camera frames, face detections or recordings.

Microphone access is optional and is used only to add sound to your recordings when audio is enabled and you grant permission. You can disable audio or decline microphone permission and record silent video.

You can revoke camera and microphone permissions in Android settings. Camera permission is necessary for the live preview and recording. The app records in the foreground; leaving the app finishes an active take.

3. Videos, metadata and settings

VlogMatic saves videos to Movies/VlogMatic through Android's media storage. Videos may contain optional audio, recording dates, camera and format information, and markers for the start of captured moments. These markers describe the recording timeline, not a person's identity.

The app reads its saved clips and their metadata to show thumbnails, play videos and navigate moments. It also keeps local settings and private recovery metadata for interrupted takes. These files remain on your device; the app does not send them to us.

Your videos are accessible to your gallery and other apps to which you grant access. Gallery or backup services you enable may upload them under their own policies. Android may back up or transfer VlogMatic's preferences, including recording profiles, according to your device's backup settings. VlogMatic's configured app backup includes preferences, not its private take-recovery files.

4. Sharing and other services

When you choose Share, Android passes access to the original video to the app you select. The video includes its recorded content and embedded metadata. The recipient app may upload or otherwise process it according to its own policy. VlogMatic does not automatically share your videos with EllanTech Limited or other services.

The app has no internet permission, account system, advertising SDK or analytics service. Firebase Hosting is used for this website only; a Firebase account or Firebase SDK is not required to use the Android app.

5. Retention, deletion and security

Saved videos remain until you delete them. You can delete a take from Clips or your gallery. Copies you have shared or backed up must be deleted separately from the relevant app or service. Uninstalling VlogMatic removes its private app data but may leave videos in shared media storage.

Restore defaults resets the app's settings. Clearing the app's storage in Android settings removes local preferences and private recovery metadata. Android backups can retain previous preferences under your backup provider's retention rules.

VlogMatic relies on Android's permission controls and app-private storage to restrict access to private settings and recovery metadata. Videos are saved in shared media storage and are not encrypted separately by VlogMatic. Protect your phone with appropriate device security and choose carefully where you share videos.

6. Support enquiries

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. Please send only information needed to explain your issue; do not send sensitive footage unless you intend us to receive it.

We use this information to answer your enquiry, troubleshoot the issue and maintain necessary support records. We process support correspondence based on our legitimate interest in providing and improving support, or to fulfil a request or comply with an applicable legal obligation. We retain it only as long as needed for those purposes, then delete it. Our email and service providers may process correspondence on our behalf, including in countries outside your own, under their applicable privacy and security arrangements. We do not sell support information or use it for advertising.

7. This website

This static privacy-policy page is hosted by Google Firebase Hosting and loads no analytics, advertising scripts, external fonts or tracking cookies. To deliver and secure the page, Google may process technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information and access logs, under its applicable service terms and privacy practices. This website does not receive recordings or detection data from the app.

8. Your choices and rights

You control app permissions, recording settings, local files and sharing. We cannot retrieve or delete videos stored only on your device or in services you have chosen.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or receive a copy of personal information we hold, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to a data-protection regulator. For information held by EllanTech Limited, contact vlogmatic-support@ellantech.com. We may ask for information necessary to verify and fulfil your request. UK residents can contact the Information Commissioner's Office; residents elsewhere can contact their local supervisory authority.

9. Children's privacy

VlogMatic is a general-purpose creator camera and is not designed specifically for children. The app does not transmit children's recordings or detection data to us. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this page if VlogMatic's data practices change and revise the effective date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before introducing materially different processing.
